Cream of Pea Soup

1 cn Peas (2 1/2 c.)
1/2 ts Sugar
1 pt Water
2 tb Flour
1/8 ts Pepper
1 ts Salt
1 1/2 tb Butter
1 pt Milk

Run peas and liquid through strainer; add sugar and water and heat. Make white sauce of flour, salt, pepper, butter and milk. As soon as sauce boils remove from fire and combine with peas.
