Shaker Rice Tomato Soup

1 1/2 qt Tomatoes; strained
pn Baking soda
2/3 c Rice; cooked
1 c Cream, soured
1/2 tb Flour
1/4 c Sugar
Salt
Pepper to taste


To strain tomatoes, put through a food mill. Add baking soda to tomatoes. Combine tomatoes and rice. Heat to boiling point. Add flour and sugar to soured cream and add to tomatoes. Cook gently while stirring constantly. Serve.
