Creamed Spinach Crab Soup

1 pk Froz. chp. spinach; (10 oz)
3 c Chicken broth
1/4 c Golden flavor Crisco
1/2 c Chopped onion
1/4 c All-purpose flour
1/2 ts Salt
1 pn Nutmeg
2 c Light cream
1 cn Crab; (4. 5 oz. ) undrained


Cook spinach in chicken broth in small saucepan. Set aside. Sauté Crisco and onion in large saucepan until tender. Stir in flour, salt, and nutmeg until smooth. Gradually stir in spinach-broth mixture. Cook, stirring constantly until mixture just comes to a boil and is thickened. Stir in cream and crab. Heat through; do not boil.
