Cream of Mushroom Soup

1 lb Mushrooms (fresh)[sliced & sauted]
2 tb Butter
4 c Milk [2%]
1/2 c Flour
4 tb Butter
1/4 ts Garlic powder
1/2 ts Onion powder
1/4 ts Sweet basil
Salt and pepper to taste


Saute the sliced mushrooms in 2 tb of butter `til the mushrooms are golden brown and set aside... Prepare a roux by melting the butter and then adding the flour a little at a time only `til the butter will take no more flour... add the spices and then the milk wisking `til there are no lumps... Bring to a slow boil and add the mushrooms and continue heating `til they are heated through... Season with the salt and pepper to taste and serve...
