Bean Soup

1 lb. dry beans*, covered with water overnight; drain
1 lb. hamburger
2 carrots, chopped
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 lg. onion, chopped
28 oz. can tomatoes, cut up
Adobo Seasoning (or salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano)
1 tbsp. cornstarch
2 cloves garlic, chopped
Few dashes bottled hot sauce
3/4 c. red wine


Quickly brown meat; add 8 cups water, tomatoes, onions, beans and seasonings; simmer (covered) for 1 1/2 hours. Add celery and carrots; simmer 30 minutes. Add wine, hot sauce; simmer another 30 minutes (uncovered). *Dry beans: barley, green and yellow split peas, lentils, navy beans, lima beans, others.
