Beer Cheese Soup

1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. flour
2/3 c. milk
1 (14 oz.) can chicken broth
1 (8 oz.) jar Cheez Whiz
1/4 c. beer
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce


Melt butter in a medium saucepan, stir in flour until smooth. Use a wire whip and gradually add milk and chicken broth until smooth. Heat and stir with wire whip until bubbly and thickened. Reduce heat and add cheese and stir until melted. Simmer on low 10 minutes. Add beer and Worcestershire sauce. Heat through, but don't boil. Garnish with popped corn. Makes about 1 quart.
