Broccoli and Cheese Soup

3 c. frozen chopped broccoli
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 c. milk
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can chicken broth
1 lb. Velveeta cheese

Add onion to broccoli and cook according to package; drain. In a medium saucepan, melt butter; stir in flour, salt and pepper. Stir until well blended. Add milk gradually. Cook until thickened. Add broccoli and rest of ingredients. Cook until cheese is melted.
