Cider Fruit Soup

1/2 c. dried apples
1/2 c. dried apricots
1/4 c. dark raisins
1/4 c. golden raisins
1 cinnamon stick
4 c. apple cider
2 c. water
2 c. mixed fresh fruit in season: strawberries, grapes, plums, blueberries, etc.

Put apples, apricots, raisins and cinnamon stick in a saucepan with water and cook slowly 1/2 hour, or until soft. Place half of mixture in a blender and puree. Return to saucepan, add cider and reheat. When hot, add fresh fruits and cook 5-8 minutes. Remove from heat. This nectar can be served hot as a sauce or cold as an appetizer.
