Crab and Shrimp Gumbo

Meat of 1/2 to 1 dozen crabs
1 pt. shrimp
2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. oil
1/2-1 c. okra
1 tsp. pepper
1 onion, chopped fine
1 tbsp. oil
2 qt. water
1 can tomatoes
1 tsp. salt
Bay leaf


Peel shrimp (uncooked) and add to a mixture of flour and oil. Brown, stirring constantly, until shrimp are pink; set aside. Cook okra and onion in oil until tender. Add water, bay leaf, tomatoes, salt and pepper. Add to this crab meat and cook for 10 minutes. Serve over rice. Serves 6 to 8.
