Cream of Onion Soup

2 c. thinly sliced sweet onions
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. flour
1 1/2 to 2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 c. milk

Saute onions in butter in large saucepan over low heat until tender and transparent. Blend in flour and seasonings. Stir over medium heat until mixture is bubbly. Remove from heat. Gradually stir in milk. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute. Makes 6 servings.
