Cream of Asparagus Soup

1 pkg. frozen asparagus, chopped
2 c. half and half
Pepper to taste
2 tbsp. butter


Cook asparagus according to package directions. Drain; reserve liquid. Place asparagus in blender container. Blend for 2 to 3 minutes. Pour in enough half and half to make cream soup consistency. Add portion of reserved liquid of stronger flavor is desired. Simmer, stirring, until heated thoroughly. Add pepper; dot with butter.
