French Onion Soup

1/3 c. butter
5 c. onions, sliced very thin
4 cans beef bouillon
1 soup can of water
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Melt butter, add onions, cook about 30 minutes, stirring often. After onions are tender, put in cans of soup, water, salt and pepper. Cook 1 hour, simmering slowly. Serve with French bread and Parmesan cheese. 6-8 servings.
