French Onion Soup

1/4 c. margarine or butter
2 c. thinly sliced onions
4 c. brown beef broth
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. parsley
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Parmesan cheese


Melt butter or margarine in 2-quart saucepan over medium heat. Fry onions until golden brown. Add beef stock and seasonings. Cover and simmer over low heat about 45 minutes. Sprinkle cheese over poured soup. Serves 6-8.
