Easy Vegetable Soup

1 lb. ground beef
2 (1 lb.) cans stewed tomatoes, chopped
2 lg. diced carrots
3 stalks diced celery
1 chopped onion
3/4 c. barley
6 c. water
6 beef bouillon
1 tsp. salt
1 lb. can tomato sauce
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. marjoram
1/2 tsp. basil
1 can corn
1 can cut green beans
1 bay leaf


Brown ground beef in Dutch oven. Add all of the remaining ingredients. When steaming reduce heat to simmer and cook on low for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, uncovered. Any other vegetables may be added also. Makes a hearty soup, about 10 servings.
