Fat to brown seasonings
1 onion, chopped fine
2 stalks celery, chopped fine
1 pod garlic, chopped fine
1 lb. okra, sliced thin
1 can whole tomatoes
1 can tomato paste
1 c. water
Bay leaf
1 ham bone and a couple of sausages, cut up
Salt & pepper
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 lemon
1 dozen gumbo crabs
2 lbs. shrimp
1 dozen oysters

Brown onion and celery in a little fat. When clear in color, add garlic. Then add okra and cook until all the slime cooks out of the okra. Add remaining ingredients except last four. Cook on low flame for a couple of hours. Add crabs and shrimp for last 1/2 hour, parsley and oysters for last 10 minutes. Serves 6 to 8.
