Kahlbasi Soup

1 tbsp. corn oil
2 med. apples, chopped
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1 can beef broth
1 can water
1 lb. kohlbasi, cut up 1" pieces & quartered
1 1/2 c. sliced carrots
Salt & pepper
4 c. cabbage, shredded
1 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. water


Saute peeled and chopped apples and onion in oil 5 minutes. Add beef broth, water, carrots and kohlbasi. Simmer 30 minutes, covered. Add salt and pepper with shredded cabbage. Simmer 10 minutes. Mix cornstarch and water together and add to pot. Simmer 2 minutes.
