Minestone Soup

3 slices bacon, chopped
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped celery
2 cloves minced garlic
1 tsp. crushed basil
2 bay leaves whole
1 can beef broth
1 can bean & bacon soup
1 1/2 c. water
1 can tomatoes, chopped
1/2 c. macaroni
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. cubed zucchini
1 c. sliced cabbage

In large pan brown bacon, onions, celery and garlic; add bay leaves and basil and cook until tender. Stir in bean soup, beef broth, water and tomatoes. Add macaroni, simmer for 20 to 30 minutes until macaroni is tender. Add cabbage and zucchini cook 10 to 15 minutes longer until cabbage is tender.
