1/2 lb. Italian sausage cut in 1/2 pieces
2 tbsp. olive oil
1/4 tsp. oregano
1 env. dry onion soup mix
6 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1 c. carrots, sliced
1 c. elbow macaroni
2 tbsp. chopped parsley
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. basil
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. seasoned salt
1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 c. celery, sliced
1/4 c. celery leaves
1 c. cabbage, shredded
1/3 c. dried split peas
1 c. red wine
Grated Parmesan cheese

In large kettle, brown meat in oil. Add seasonings and onion soup mix. Stir in boiling water, tomato sauce, stewed tomatoes and soy sauce. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Add celery, leaves, carrots, cabbage and split peas; continue to cook for 30 minutes. Add macaroni, parsley and wine. Simmer for 30 minutes longer, add more water as necessary. Pass Parmesan cheese.
