Portuguese Soup

1 (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1 1/2 lbs. smoked sausage or Polish
5 c. water
2 cans kidney beans (15 oz.)
2 carrots, cut up
1/2 cabbage, chopped
1 med. onion
2 lg. potatoes
1/2 green pepper, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste

Simmer sausage in 2 cups water 30 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until vegetables are done. Tastes better the next day.
