Sausage Soup

1/2 to 1 lb. sweet Italian sausage
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 (2 lb.) can Italian tomatoes
2 cans chicken broth
1 tsp. basil
1/2 c. orzo noodles (rice - shaped) or rice
Salt & pepper


Remove sausage from casing and crumble and brown in oil. Drain and add all other ingredients except orzo. Simmer 20 minutes. Add orzo, simmer 20 minutes more. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
