Turkey Bean Soup

3 c. dry beans (use 7 or 15 bean mixture)
1 to 1 1/2 lbs. ground turkey
1 can beef broth (bouillon)
1 pkg. onion soup mix
1 med. onion, chopped
5 carrots, sliced
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. basil
4 c. water


Cover beans with water and soak overnight. Next day, drain water and cover beans with fresh water. Simmer beans for 1 hour, making sure they remain covered with water. Brown turkey and drain any excess grease. Add turkey, soup, broth, onion, carrots, spices and 4 cups water to the beans. Bring to a boil and simmer for one hour.
