Wild Rice Soup

1 lb. bacon, diced and cooked crisp
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 pt. Half & Half
2 (4 oz.) cans mushrooms, with juice
2 cans cream of potato soup
4 c. wild rice, cooked (1 cup uncooked)
1 (8 oz.) jar Old English cheese
2 c. water

Saute onion in bacon drippings; drain. Add remaining ingredients and heat through without scorching.
