Wild Rice Soup

1/3 c. wild rice
4 c. chicken stock
1/2 c. celery, chopped
1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
1/4 c. onion, chopped
1/4 c. mushrooms, chopped
1 sm. carrot, grated
1 clove garlic
1/3 c. butter
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. white pepper
1/4 tsp. curry powder
3/4-1 c. half and half
Slivered almonds

Rinse rice in cold water and boil in chicken stock. Saute vegetables in butter and add flour and seasonings. At this point, it can be chilled. Warm up slowly and add half and half. Sprinkle with slivered almonds.
